Off The Cuff/s

A Zine, made in collaboration with artist Mona Rubi.
The Zine was born from our shared love of skateboarding. It was our love letter.
We made it the classic way, by cutting images from skateboarding magazines, Mona’s drawings and my photography. We then scanned them and, on some pages, added certain elements, like my poetry and some characters from Mona’s universe.
The zine was self-made and sold among a close group of friends. Here I showcase some pages that feature my writing.

The title suggests two meanings: the desire to stay free, which we feel skateboarding provides for us. And the way the Zine was realised, without preparation, but hands-on, emotionally led by what felt right for us in the moment, as a love letter.
